Tutorial #1 - Hokuto

I was bored so... I did a tut! :D My First tutorial mind, so it's a bit crap ><

We're going from to
Done in PS Elements 2, so should be OK with most Photoshop programs and adaptable to PSP.

Let's start off with our base:

Hokuto-chan!! Next use this texture by [info]77words. Put it on Multiply 100% and you get this:

A bit better. Now use this texture by [info]77words and put it on colour burn 90%.

I don't like the streak of colour on Hokuto's ceremonial robes, so we use the trusty Smudge Tool!

Notice the dark bit on the right that wasn't there before? To get that, use the burn tool and run it along the stripe until it turns into a sufficiant colour. Be Sure not to over-do-it, else it goes a crispy black colour. What's it for? It's background for the forthcoming text!

But before the text, add this grungy border brush by [info]inxsomniax on Normal 100%.

We're getting there!

Now for the text! I used Times New Roman and eyedropped the colour from Hokuto's robe. Type out your chosen phrase over the dark area you made with the burn tool. :)

Nearly there! Next use another brush by [info]inxsomniax and put it on Normal 100%

Lastly, use this brush by [info]inxsomniax with a green colour taken from the icon background. Put it on colour burn 39%

There we are! Done and dusted! :D Try not to copy word for word. Also please don't copy the icon and claim as your own, especially in an icontest, but I doubt anyone here would do that! ^_^

Have fun making your own!

Wow, I really like how that came out! I very rarely manage to successfully use [info]inxsomniax's border brushes so this is pure love~ Gonna try it out later.

It's really pretty, but... it's supposed to be spelled "foretold."
